Everything you need to know about Voidling Bound and splicing.gg.

01

Getting started

What is Voidling Bound?

Voidling Bound is a creature-collection and combat game by Hatchery Games where you splice and raise voidlings, customising their species, elements, modules, abilities, perks, catalyzers and natures to build a team. splicing.gg is a fan-made hub for planning and sharing those builds.

What is splicing.gg?

splicing.gg is a community-built hub to plan, share and rank Voidling Bound builds, with a complete Codex (species, elements, modules, abilities, perks, catalyzers and natures) and a Splicing Simulator to craft your voidling.

Is this the official Voidling Bound site?

No. splicing.gg is an unofficial, fan-made site. Voidling Bound © Hatchery Games. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by them, and does not use official assets. For official information see voidlingbound.wiki.gg.

Do I need an account?

No. You can browse the Codex, builds and rankings freely. You only need a free account to create builds, like, comment and earn badges.

The basics

What is splicing in Voidling Bound?

Splicing is how you customise a Voidling. At the Splicing Station, a Wrangler combines discovered genes to shape a Voidling’s appearance, abilities, elemental affinity and perks. Every Voidling has 14 editable genes, and you unlock more by evolving new Voidlings in the Evolution Chamber or hatching unique ones from Golden Eggs. Each splice costs 5 Polychrome Mutagen and changes the rarity to Spliced. The station unlocks after you beat the Subterranean Expedition mission. On splicing.gg you can plan these splices in the Splicing Simulator and share them with the community.

What are species, elements, modules, abilities, perks, catalyzers and natures?

Species are the base voidlings (there are 9). Elements (Organic, Pyro, Cryo, Cyber, Plasma) drive faction matchups. Modules are species-locked body-part upgrades granting attribute bonuses. Abilities are each species’ Primary and Secondary moves. Perks are passive bonuses (species or Golden Egg). Catalyzers are endgame equippables from The Abyss (up to 5, order matters). Natures grant attribute bonuses with Normal, Notably or Exceptional rarity. You can browse them all in the Codex.

How do attributes and the cap work?

Each voidling has five attributes: Strength, Essence, Vitality, Recuperation and Agility. You distribute a base of 20 points, then modules and nature add on top, up to a per-attribute cap of 29.

What is the Abyss level?

The Abyss is the endgame challenge. Each build can report the deepest Abyss level it has reached; that number shows as a badge and you can sort builds by it.

Creating and testing builds

How do I create a build?

Sign in and open the creator (the + Build button). Pick a species, set its elements, choose modules, abilities, perks and catalyzers, edit attributes and nature, then publish. Your build gets its own page you can share, and it can appear in the rankings.

Can I test a build and see its stats before splicing in-game?

Yes, that is what the Splicing Simulator is for. You craft the voidling and pick its modules, abilities, perks, catalyzers and nature, and the attribute bars, totals and element affinity recalculate live as you go. You see exactly how a build turns out before you spend anything in the game. Try it in the creator.

How do I make a strong build in Voidling Bound?

Pick a species and element, stack attribute bonuses from modules and your nature toward the cap, and choose perks and catalyzers that fit your plan. The best way to tune it is to build it in the Splicing Simulator and watch the stats change, then compare against the top community builds.

What is the Neutral Spliced / Bleed meta?

It is the current community meta: a Neutral-typed spliced voidling whose Bleed lets it execute enemies at around half health. Since the latest patch you can splice a Neutral voidling directly, and breeding one is still an option. We break down how it works and how to plan it in our Neutral Spliced Bleed builds guide.

Finding and sharing builds

Where can I find the best builds, and how are they ranked?

Builds are ranked by community likes. Browse the rankings for the all-time Top, what’s Trending right now (recent likes weighted heavier), the newest builds, and the ones that have cleared the deepest Abyss. Any signed-in player can like a build, and self-likes never count.

How do I find builds for a specific species?

Open the build browser and filter by species, element or role. Each combination has its own page (for example a Cryo Gilick build), so you jump straight to what you care about.

Can I remix or fork another player’s build?

Yes. Open any build and duplicate it as a starting point for your own version. Forks credit the original author, so the community keeps track of where an idea came from. Browse builds to find one to riff on.

05

The Codex

Where can I see what each perk, module and catalyzer does?

In the Codex. It lists every species, element, module, ability, perk, catalyzer and nature with their effects and bonuses, organised so you can look anything up quickly.

Which modules give which attribute bonuses?

The Codex modules page groups every module by species and body part, and shows the attribute bonus each one grants, so you can plan exactly where your points come from.

How do catalyzer rarities work?

Catalyzers come in tiers (Weak, Common, Potent, Strong) plus Corrupted as its own fixed rarity. In a build you pick the tier for each catalyzer, and the Codex shows the documented Strong and Corrupted stats.

What is each element strong against?

Each element (Organic, Pyro, Cryo, Cyber, Plasma) is effective against certain factions, exactly as shown in the game. The Codex elements section lays out each element’s faction effectiveness and status effects. splicing.gg reflects the game’s own data and does not invent stats or simulate combat.

About the data and languages

Where does splicing.gg’s data come from? Is it accurate?

Most of it comes straight from the game, especially attribute values and bonuses. A few mechanic and feature descriptions are informed by the community wiki, and everything shown is verified and legitimate. If something isn’t certain it simply isn’t on the site (morphology like skin colours, for example, stays out until it is confirmed). Anything community-derived, like element affinities, is labelled as a heuristic, never as official. You can see it all in the Codex.

What languages is splicing.gg available in?

English and Portuguese. Switch language from the footer or your settings; the choice is remembered for your next visit.
