"Swamp Time Lord" | #Plane Shift Gilick
The theory
After days of trial and error, I finally found a working build for the Plane Shift community challenge.
This build is based on defensive spam but plays around with perks to make it easier to perform. My personal weakness with spam builds is the pinky dying and slipping up, which could end a run prematurely. That's where Plane Shift comes in: it depends on Swamp Monster, which offers control over its activation, so you can "rest" in the puddle while invisible to recover for a few seconds. Undead pairs well with Plane Shift, since, according to my tests, it "dilates" time so, if it ends up activating (which should not happen till levels ~500 anyway since I never activated it during my run), you can spawn a puddle, rest around 20 secs in it, and you could activate it again, without needing to wait the full 60 secs, which, apparently, don't stretch out with Plane Shift. The build is tanky already so it serves as a clutch, just in case. Its element is pure Plasma and, with its primary Thorn Blast, it does a surprising amount of damage even at higher floors.
It can go further but I left at 509 as I was getting tired and the lag was getting on my nerves.
That said, the audio in the video proof has some sizzling issues and could be annoying to listen to so maybe lower the volume or mute it.
